Manzi is my favorite DJ. Period. The last time he
played at the Landing it was quite rowdy and I expect
this to be the same.

12 Inches Of Pleasure

Darshan Jesrani (Metro Area - NYC)
with Alex Zahara & Alan Manzi

Darshan is half of Metro Area, creators of "Miura"
which is an absolute classic track. Their sound
combines the soul of house music with the funk of
disco and rigidity of techno. So good. Extra sound is
being brought in just for this. Show up early cause
the place will be packed.

orgue electronique at the phoenix landing tonight

Straight from Netherlands, Orgue Electronique (Brian
Chinetti) is the master of the staccato minimal
electro-nic sound with unexpected melodies and
haunting tensions in between beats. Orgue Electronique
is not only known for the releases he did on Bunker,
Stilleben, Creme Organization, and various
compilations, but also for his collaborations with
Legowelt.

Orgue is very well known for his live performances,
using hardware only (no laptop!) this will be a real
throw back. He's been on the road and has traveled
from the Hague to Detroit, from Tokyo to New York, and
now for the first time to Boston to end his 2007 World
tour.

Joining Orgue is NYC based Dj, Speculator. He's
played all over the USA and Europe, has released a
record with Danny Wolfers (Legowelt) called
Smackulator, and also has a solo project called
Grackle. Speculator lives in Brooklyn where he holds
down a residency at the Tribeca Grand and a Monday
night radio show called Short Bus Radio, which airs on
the East Village Radio station.

And not to mention, our famed Wednesday night resident
Sergio Santos will be dropping some serious beats in a
way that only Sergio can deliver it.

So much techno, so little time . . . this night should
not be missed!

Ruoho Ruotsi (Defchild - SF) @ Phoenix Landing

Wednesday, July 18

Wednesdays @ the Phoenix Landing

Ruoho Ruotsi (De'fchild - SF)
Sergio Santos (Resident)

Ruoho Ruotsi operates Defchild, a great dub techno
label out of San Francisco. He's got several 12"s
under his belt at this point and has worked on
collaborations with Todd Gys and Mike Uzzi & Ben Recht
as well. If you're into Basic Channel than this is for
you. I believe this is his Boston area debut.

RobotLoveSongs presents:

Akufen (Musique Risque - Montreal)
Jon Schmidt (RLS - NYC)
Soul Sista (Montreal)
Damien Cuvelier (RLS - Boston)
Todd Gys (Zero G, UG - Boston)

Our cohorts over at RobotLoveSongs have hooked up a
pretty serious party here. Two rooms and a great
lineup rocking until past sunrise. Please come support
this so it can happen again!

Akufen is one of the biggest names in techno this
millenium. Along with Matthew Herbert he popularized
the sampling of everyday sounds in dance music, which
has become a tool used by countless producers these
days.

***NOTE: Rise is members only so you MUST have a
physical invite or RSVP to bleep@robotlovesongs.com
with first and last names of every guest that will
attend. RLS will keep this open until the early
evening of the party.

Bruno Pronsato celebrates freedom @ the Landing

Wednesdays @ Phoenix Landing
July 4th 10pm - 1am
Fresh off a European circuit Bruno Pronsato (Orac|Hello?Repeat - Berlin) joins us to kick off his American tour. For those that missed him last time around at 808, Bruno's live sets are topped by few. He's used to much larger venues so the Phoenix will be an especially intimate setting. Bruno's gonna make the fireworks look like truck stop sparklers.

Opening sounds provided by resident Eric Gray.

Raster-Noton R.P.M. (Revolutions Per Minute):

SENKING is Cologne's Jens Massell, who also records as
Fumble and as part of Poto & Cabengo. As Senking,
Massell makes darkly atmospheric music that is deep,
dubby, and intensely cinematic. His most recent CD,
List, is out now on Raster-Noton. This will be his
first U.S. performance.

FRANK BRETSCHNEIDER is a founding member of
Raster-Noton and one of the pioneering figures in
ultra minimal post techno. Using the most basic sound
sources--sine waves and white noise--Bretschneider
creates minimal, flowing pieces with delicate textures
and complex rhythmic patterns.

OLAF BENDER is a founding member of the Raster-Noton
label, as well as its lead designer. Bender (formerly
known as Byetone) creates his music digitally,
assembling sine tones into complex sound fabrics of
deep sub-bass and rhythmic clicks and crackles. He
creates abstract animations to support his abstract
music -in this way the rhythm of music is transformed
into a graphic equivalent, which Bender controls in
real time.
