Straight from Netherlands, Orgue Electronique (Brian
Chinetti) is the master of the staccato minimal
electro-nic sound with unexpected melodies and
haunting tensions in between beats. Orgue Electronique
is not only known for the releases he did on Bunker,
Stilleben, Creme Organization, and various
compilations, but also for his collaborations with
Legowelt.

Orgue is very well known for his live performances,
using hardware only (no laptop!) this will be a real
throw back. He's been on the road and has traveled
from the Hague to Detroit, from Tokyo to New York, and
now for the first time to Boston to end his 2007 World
tour.

Joining Orgue is NYC based Dj, Speculator. He's
played all over the USA and Europe, has released a
record with Danny Wolfers (Legowelt) called
Smackulator, and also has a solo project called
Grackle. Speculator lives in Brooklyn where he holds
down a residency at the Tribeca Grand and a Monday
night radio show called Short Bus Radio, which airs on
the East Village Radio station.

And not to mention, our famed Wednesday night resident
Sergio Santos will be dropping some serious beats in a
way that only Sergio can deliver it.

So much techno, so little time . . . this night should
not be missed!

SENKING is Cologne's Jens Massell, who also records as
Fumble and as part of Poto & Cabengo. As Senking,
Massell makes darkly atmospheric music that is deep,
dubby, and intensely cinematic. His most recent CD,
List, is out now on Raster-Noton. This will be his
first U.S. performance.

FRANK BRETSCHNEIDER is a founding member of
Raster-Noton and one of the pioneering figures in
ultra minimal post techno. Using the most basic sound
sources--sine waves and white noise--Bretschneider
creates minimal, flowing pieces with delicate textures
and complex rhythmic patterns.

OLAF BENDER is a founding member of the Raster-Noton
label, as well as its lead designer. Bender (formerly
known as Byetone) creates his music digitally,
assembling sine tones into complex sound fabrics of
deep sub-bass and rhythmic clicks and crackles. He
creates abstract animations to support his abstract
music -in this way the rhythm of music is transformed
into a graphic equivalent, which Bender controls in
real time.

Thursday, June 28, 2007. 10pm. $7

Non-Event and Make it New present

Raster-Noton R.P.M. (Revolutions Per Minute):

SENKING, FRANK BRETSCHNEIDER, and OLAF BENDER
(Boston debut for all three artists)

Middlesex Lounge
315 Massachusetts Avenue
Cambridge, MA
(617) 868-MSEX
Doors: 9pm, Show: 10pm
Admission: $7 | 21+

A podcast featuring music by all three artists will be available soon at:
http://www.rarefrequency.com/nonevent/

About the artists:

SENKING is Cologne's Jens Massell, who also records as Fumble and as
part of Poto & Cabengo. As Senking, Massell makes darkly atmospheric
music that is deep, dubby, and intensely cinematic. His most recent
CD, List, is out now on Raster-Noton. This will be his first U.S.
performance.

FRANK BRETSCHNEIDER is a founding member of Raster-Noton and one of
the pioneering figures in ultra minimal post techno. Using the most
basic sound sources--sine waves and white noise--Bretschneider creates
minimal, flowing pieces with delicate textures and complex rhythmic
patterns.

OLAF BENDER is a founding member of the Raster-Noton label, as well as
its lead designer. Bender (formerly known as Byetone) creates his
music digitally, assembling sine tones into complex sound fabrics of
deep sub-bass and rhythmic clicks and crackles. He creates abstract
animations to support his abstract music -in this way the rhythm of
music is transformed into a graphic equivalent, which Bender controls
in real time.

This week we celebrate the 5th anniversary of Zero G
Sounds, Boston's beloved techno mainstay and
brainchild of Eddie O. To mark the occaision we've
invited the legendary Kooky Scientist to treat us to a
live set. Every time Fred has performed at the Phoenix
it's been memorable so don't miss this one. Also we
have Todd Gys who was the first artist signed to Zero
G and really carved out the trademark deep dubby sound
the label is known for. Warming it up is the ace Eric
McLaughlin of 808 fame. Check the listing below for
info.

And click here to listen to a recent interview with
Zero G boss Eddie O. on the Trancelab with our buddy
DJ Lord Bass. Eddie talks a bit about the beginnings
of the label and what to expect for the future, which
looks bright.

Sammy Dee is one of the best techno DJs in the world.
His set a few years ago at the Phoenix Landing stands
Boston. Can't recommend this highly enough.

Sunday, March 18

Audion aka Matthew Dear (Ghostly, Spectral)

w/Sergio Santos

Mathew Dear is an incredibly versatile talent. From
sometimes gnarzy and always banging Audion moniker to
his hyper-edited minimal techno False project to his
avant pop experiments under his own name. His "Mouth
to Mouth" was probably the biggest record of the past
year and was charted and played by just about
everybody. This is gonna sound so good on that sound
system. Props to Marz for bringing him.
